SPICED NUT MIX
One Christmas, my good friend gave me this recipe and a sack of ingredients. I think of her every time I stir up these pumpkin-spiced nuts. -Patti Holland, Parker, Colorado

Steps:
- In a bowl, beat egg whites and water until frothy. Add nuts; stir gently to coat. Combine sugar, pie spice and salt; add to nut mixture and stir gently to coat. Fold in raisins. Spread into two greased 15x10x1-in. baking pans. , Bake, uncovered, at 300° for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned, stirring every 10 minutes. Cool. Store in an airtight container.

Steps:
- In 4- to 5-quart slow cooker, mix butter, taco seasoning mix, cinnamon and red pepper. Add remaining ingredients; toss gently.
- Cook uncovered on Low heat setting 3 to 4 hours, stirring every 30 minutes, until nuts are toasted. Turn off slow cooker. Serve with large serving spoon.

HONEY SPICED NUT MIX
These spiced nuts can be prepared with pantry ingredients in a flash. The nuts are roasted then tossed in a totally addictive salty-sweet coating made from Demerara sugar and coarse kosher salt.

- Preheat oven to 350-deg. F. Line a rimmed sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine sugar and salt and set aside.
- Combine honey, black pepper, cumin, coriander, paprika and cayenne in a bowl and mix well. Add mixed nuts and stir to thoroughly coat. Spread nut mixture evenly in a single layer on prepared sheet pan and bake until toasted and fragrant, about 10 to 11 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let cool until barely warm, then transfer to sugar mixture and toss to evenly coat. Return to sheet pan and cool completely. Transfer to airtight container or divide nuts into two portions and package for gift giving. Nuts will keep 5 days at room temperature, tightly sealed.
SPICED, GLAZED PRETZEL & NUT MIX (DAVID LEIBOVITZ)

- 1. Spread the nuts on a baking sheet and roast in a 350F oven for 10 minutes, stirring once for even toasting. 2. In a medium bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, cayenne, and maple syrup. 3. Add the warm nuts, stirring until coated. Then mix in the salt and pretzels, and stir until the nuts and pretzels are completely coated. 4. Spread the mixture back on the baking sheet and return to the oven for 12-18 minutes, stirring twice during cooking. Remove from oven and cool completely, separating the nuts and pretzels as they cool [right away!] Once cool, this mixture can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.

BROWN SUGAR SPICED NUT MIX

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Combine first 5 ingredients in a small bowl. Combine egg white, oil, and Worcestershire in a large bowl; stir with a whisk until mixture is frothy. Add nuts, pumpkinseeds, and sugar mixture, stirring well to coat
- Spread nut mixture on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. Remove pan from oven; stir nuts to break apart. Return pan to oven. Reduce oven temperature to 300°. Bake 10 minutes. Remove nuts; cool 5 minutes. Stir to break apart nuts.
