Steak Bake image

I've been making this since I found it in a small community cookbook about 12 years ago. It's easy and it's very good!

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 lb round steak, cut in 3 inch pieces
1/4 cup flour
2 tablespoons shortening
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can beefy mushroom soup
2 tablespoons steak sauce
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 green pepper, cut in strips
1 small onion, sliced
2 tomatoes, cut in wedges
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Coat steak with flour; brown in shortening for 4 minutes each side.
  • Place in baking pan.
  • Mix soup, steak sauce, garlic salt, and pepper.
  • Pour over steak.
  • Add green pepper, onion and tomato.
  • Top with cheese.
  • Cover and bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
