Number Of Ingredients 12

1 1/2 stick butter or margarine
1 c sugar
12 oz can evaporated milk
1 egg, beaten slightly
7 oz coconut, flaked
1 1/2 c pecans or walnuts, chopped
1 box graham crackers plus 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
FROSTING:
1/2 stick butter or margarine
2 c powdered sugar
3 Tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla extract

Steps:

  • 1. BARS: Bring to a boil the butter, sugar, evaporated milk & egg. Remove from heat & add the coconut, nuts and 1 cup of graham cracker crumbs.
  • 2. Spread 1/2 box of whole graham crackers in shallow pan and pour the boiled mixture on top. Place the remaining whole graham crackers over that then frost & cut.
  • 3. FROSTING: Melt butter, then gradually add powdered sugar & mix well. Add the milk & vanilla & mix to a spreading consistency. You may need to add more milk to achieve that consistency.
  • 4. KEEP REFRIGERATED. These are sweet so you can't eat a belly full.
