Dutch Noodles image

A friend shared this recipe with me. It originally came from an Amish Cookbook. I added cayenne pepper and garlic. I would like to share it with you.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 lb bacon
1 lb flat noodles, cooked
1 (10 ounce) package frozen spinach
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 cup butter (the real thing)
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
2 cups freshly grated parmesan cheese
salt and black pepper
cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Cook bacon until crisp then crumble and set aside.
  • Thaw frozen spinach and squeeze out water.
  • Melt butter in large saucepan.
  • Add spinach and garlic and saute 3-5 minutes on medium heat.
  • In saucepan combine all remaining ingredients and heat over low heat for five minutes.
  • Pour over noodles, add bacon and toss gently.
