Number Of Ingredients 9

3/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 egg yolks
1 1/4 cups flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup rolled oats, uncooked
1 cup pecans, chopped
2/3 cup apple butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease an 8x8 baking dish.
  • Cream butter and sugars. Add egg yolks and beat until fluffy. Mix in flour and salt and then stir in the oats and nuts. Press half of this mixture into the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Spread the apple butter over the dough to within 1/2 inch of the edge.
  • Sprinkle with pieces of the extra dough until the surface is evenly coated. Press down carefully but firmly to cover the apple butter.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until light brown.
  • Cool and cut into squares.

½ cup butter
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup packed brown sugar
¼ cup white sugar
1 egg
¾ cup apple butter
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon apple pie spice
1 cup raisins
1 cup confectioners' sugar
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan.
  • Beat butter or margarine until creamy. Add half of the flour, the brown sugar, white sugar, egg, apple butter, baking soda and the apple pie spice. Beat together until well blended. Beat in remaining flour and stir in raisins. Spread in prepared baking pan.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or till toothpick in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack. Drizzle with icing. Cut into bars.
  • To Make Icing: Mix 1 cup confectioners' sugar, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla and 1 - 2 tablespoons milk. Mix to drizzling consistency.

2 cups plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups peeled and chopped Granny Smith apples
½ cup coarsely chopped pecans
½ cup packed brown sugar
½ cup chopped pecans, toasted
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons water
1 ½ tablespoons quick-cooking rolled oats

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a medium bowl, combine 2 cups flour, the baking soda, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg. In a large bowl, beat softened butter with a mixer on medium 30 seconds. Add granulated sugar; beat until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add flour mixture, beating until just combined. Stir in apples and coarsely chopped pecans
  • Line a 13×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Spread batter in prepared pan. Bake until golden and set in the center, 50 to 60 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in a small bowl, stir together brown sugar, toasted pecans, melted butter, the remaining 2 tablespoons flour, the water and oats. Sprinkle over hot bars. Bake 5 minutes more.
  • Cool completely on wire rack. If desired, use parchment paper to lift bars out of pan. Place on a cutting board to cut into bars.

This is one of my newly adopted recipes. I tossed this together tonight while fixing dinner. Very quick and easy dessert. I used regular apple butter, but no added sugar apple butter could be used as well.

2 cups old fashioned oats
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 cup butter or 3/4 cup margarine, softened to room temperature
1 cup apple butter

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease 9-inch square baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  • In large bowl, combine oats, flour, sugar, salt and cinnamon.
  • Add butter and beat with electric mixer on low until mixture is crumbly.
  • Pat half of the mixture, about 2 cups into baking pan.
  • Spread apple butter evenly over crumb layer.
  • Sprinkle remaining crumbs over apple butter and press down gently.
  • Bake 30-35 minutes or until golden.
  • Transfer pan to wire rack and cool completely.

1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar, divided
1/2 cup butter
4 cups sliced peeled apples
2 tablespoons lemon juice

1 large egg, lightly beaten
1/3 cup evaporated milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup chopped nuts
1-1/3 cups sweetened shedded coconut

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine flour, salt and 1/3 cup sugar. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles fine crumbs; press into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. , Arrange the apple slices on top of crumbs; sprinkle with lemon juice. Combine 1/3 cup sugar with cinnamon; sprinkle over apples. Bake at 375° for 20 minutes. , Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine remaining sugar with the rest of the ingredients. 2 cups flour
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar, divided
1-1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 cup (1 stick) cold butter
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
2 Tbsp. milk
1 egg, beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3-1/2 cups chopped apples

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix flour, brown sugar, 1/2 cup of the granulated sugar and the cinnamon; cut in butter using pastry blender or two knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in walnuts. Reserve 2 cups of the crumb mixture for topping; press remaining crumb mixture firmly onto bottom of 13x9-inch baking pan.
  • Beat cream cheese and milk with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add remaining 1/4 cup granulated sugar, the egg and vanilla; mix well. Pour over crust. Top with apples; sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture.
  • Bake 30 min. Cool completely. Cut into 32 bars to serve. Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.

1 1/2 c sugar

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

1/2 teaspoon gluten-free vanilla
1/2 cup cold butter
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
1/2 cup gluten-free oats
2 tablespoons butter, melted, cooled
1 cup gluten-free apple butter

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. In medium bowl, combine cake mix and vanilla. Cut in 1/2 cup butter, using pastry blender (or pulling 2 table knives through mixture in opposite directions), until mixture is crumbly. Reserve 1 cup mixture for topping. In bottom of ungreased 8-inch square pan, press remaining crumb mixture. Bake 15 minutes. Meanwhile, stir walnuts, oats and melted butter into reserved crumb mixture.
  • Spread apple butter evenly over partially baked crust to within 1 inch of edge. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture, pressing gently into apple butter.
