Spanish Rice the Easy Way image

I needed an easy mexican rice side dish to go along with Kimi's Santa Fe Chicken Casserole. This is what I came up with using one of the new Philidelphia Cooking Creme's.

Number Of Ingredients 15

1/2 pound(s) italian sausage
1/4 pound(s) bacon, cut up
1/4 - sweet red pepper, chopped
1 stick(s) celery, chopped
1 - green onion, chopped
1 teaspoon(s) house seasoning (paula deen recipe)
1 teaspoon(s) taco seasoning
2 tablespoon(s) philadelphia cooking creme-savory garlic
1/4 cup(s) tomato sauce
4 cup(s) cooked rice (i prefer uncle ben's)
PAULA DEEN'S HOUSE SEASONING
1 cup(s) salt
1/4 cup(s) ground black pepper
1/4 cup(s) garlic powder
- combine and store in airtight container~makes 1 1/2 cups.

Steps:

  • Brown sausage, bacon, red pepper, celery and green onion.
  • Add seasonings, cooking creme & tomato sauce. Stir in cooked rice. Garnish with sour cream and sliced green onion.
