Southern Chocolate Pudding Cake image

This recipe still reminds me of Sunday Dinner when I was a child. It's so delicious and moist, and it's also very easy to make. Of course, my mom's was made from scratch but this is made convenient and easy using a chocolate cake mix...

1 box chocolate cake mix
1 1/4 c milk
1/3 c canola oil
3 large eggs
ICING
1 can(s) condensed milk
16 oz can chocolate syrup
8 oz container of koolwhip
1/2 c chopped pecans

Steps:

  • 1. CAKE: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all cake ingredients in a bowl and beat well. Pour into greased and floured 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake for 35 minutes. Do the toothpick test to make sure it is done.
  • 2. ICING: Mix condensed mix and chocolate syrup in a small bowl. Pour over cake and let it soak in. Refrigerate for several hours. Spread whipped topping over cake and top with chopped pecans.
