Shrimp Creole image

This is sooo good and requested by friends often.

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 1/2 lb deveined shrimp
1 1/2 Tbsp bacon grease
2 Tbsp flour
1/2 c chopped onion
1/2 c chopped green pepper
1/2 c chopped celery
8 oz can(s) tomato sauce
16 oz can of petite diced tomatoes
3 Tbsp basil
4 clove minced garlic
4 dash(es) of tabassco sauce (more or less to your liking)
2 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste
1 c rice, cooked

Steps:

  • 1. Heat the bacon grease and saute the trinity (celery, green pepper and onions) until tender. Add the flour, this will thicken the sauce. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer for 25 mins
  • 2. Add the shrimp and simmer for 10 more mins. Serve over cooked rice with crusty bread.
