Robbie's Homemade Corn Bread image

Robbie's Mom taught him how to make this recipe among many others, when he was 12 years old. The kids and I love it, and so does everyone else who has ever tried it. I hope your family enjoys it as well as all of ours! :)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 1/2 cup(s) self-rising buttermilk corn meal
1 1/2 cup(s) self rising flour
1/2 cup(s) milk
2 - eggs
3 teaspoon(s) vegetable oil
2 tablespoon(s) vegetable oil for preheating skillet

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees, with the iron skillet with 2 spoons of oil in it. Make sure to preheat the skillet with the oven before cooking.
  • Mix all ingredients in a bowl while oven and skillet are preheating.
  • Add all ingredients to skillet and place in oven. Cook until cornbread gets tan to brown on top. This make take 30 minutes to 45 minutes to cook.
