Mother's Spaghetti Sauce image

3 pieces Onions (chopped)
3 cloves Garlic (minced)
5 pieces Celery (chopped)
1 piece Green pepper (cut very small)
1 piece Red pepper (cut very small)
450 g Lean ground beef
450 g Lean ground pork
19 ounces Tomato juice (can)
28 ounces Tomato (can)
156 milliliters Tomato paste ( 2 x cans)
398 milliliters Tomato sauce (can)
1 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon Italian spices
1 teaspoon Paprika
1/2 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
2 pieces Bay leaves
2 tablespoons White sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Fry the onions, garlic, celery and peppers in 2 tablespoons of olive oil for 30 seconds, remove and set aside.
  • 2. Brown the ground beef in 2 tablespoons of olive oil. When the meat is cooked remove the excess of oil.
  • 3. Add spices, onions, garlic, celery, peppers, tomato juice, tomato paste, tomatoes, tomato sauce, sugar and bay leaves.
  • 4. Simmer for at least 3 hours.
