MILK CHOCOLATE OATMEAL COOKIES image

1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
¾ cup (1 ½ sticks) butter or margarine, softened
¾ cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup sugar
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
1 large egg
2 tablespoons milk
2 cups (12 oz) milk chocolate morsels
1 cup quick or old-fashioned oats
½ cup raisins (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt in a small bowl. In a larger mixing bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, sugar and vanilla extract until creamy. Beat in the egg. Gradually beat in the flour mixture and milk. Stir in the morsels, oats and raisins. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10-14 minutes or until edges are crisp but centers are still soft. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
