Hot Bacon Cheese Spread image

I made this recipe for our Christmas eve party. I set it down and went to hang my coat up and when I got back half of it was gone. They loved it and ask for it every year. Hope you enjoy it.

Time 1h15m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 16 oz. round bread, uncut
1 lb bacon, cooked crisp
1 8 oz. shredded colby/monterey jack cheese
1 c parmesan cheese
1 c mayonnaise
1 small onion minced

Steps:

  • 1. Cut a lid off top of bread and hollow out center, leaving 1 inch thick shell. Cut removed bread into bite size pieces.
  • 2. Mix remaining ingredients in a bowl. Spoon into the hollowed bread shell and cover with top of bread. Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour . Serve hot; you can reheat in microwave. You may need to have some crackers on hand, we never have enough bread left over.
