Corn Flake Coating Mix (for baking meats) image

This is a mix to coat your chicken or pork chops. This recipe makes enough coating for 10 pounds of chicken (so divide it into 4 zipper bags to do 2-3 pounds of chicken each time. This will store well in the pantry for 3 months. We have used this many times!

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 c corn meal
1 c corn flake crumbs
1/3 c instant minced onions
2 Tbsp parsley flakes
1 tsp instant minced garlic
1 Tbsp oregano, dried
1 Tbsp basil, dried
1/4 tsp pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Put all dry ingredients into a large zipper bag. Shake it well to mix. Store in a cool dry place.
  • 2. When ready to use the "shake and bake" mix, put one or two pieces of meat at a time in the zipper bag close the bag making sure to leave some air space. Shake the meat around the bag to evenly coat the meat.
  • 3. Bake your meat as you would using the commerical shake and bake. (400 degree oven, do not cover or turn the chicken, cook bone in chicken for 45 minutes and boneless chicken for 20 minutes.
