Chocolate Syrup Brownies image

Number Of Ingredients 12

1/2 c butter or margarine
1 c granulated sugar
1 can(s) 16 oz. chocolate syrup about 1-1/2 cups
4 eggs
1 c all - purpose flour
1/2 c chopped nuts
CHOCOLATE FROSTING:
2 c granulated sugar
1/2 c (1 stick) butter
1/2 c milk
1/2 c cocoa powder
1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°F Grease 13x9x2 - inch baking pan. In large mixing bowl beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add Syrup, eggs and flour; beat well. Stir in nuts. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from the sided of the pan. Cool Completely. Frost with chocolate frosting and cut into bars.
  • 2. Chocolate Frosting: In a 2-quart saucepan, combine sugar, butter, milk and cocoa. Over medium heat, bring mixture to a boil stirring constantly. Boil for about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and transfer to a bowl. Add vanilla and beat with an electric mixer until thick enough to spread. approximately 10 minutes. Yields 2-1/4 cups frosting.
  • 3. Makes about 36 brownies
