Number Of Ingredients 6

1 package (11 ounces) caramels
1 tablespoon water
1 package (10 ounces) pretzel rods
8 ounces German sweet chocolate or semisweet chocolate, chopped
2 teaspoons shortening
1 cup finely chopped pecans

Steps:

  • In a double boiler, melt caramels in water. Dip half of each pretzel into the hot caramel. Place on a greased sheet of foil to cool. , In a microwave, melt chocolate and shortening; stir until smooth. Dip the caramel-coated end of each pretzel into the chocolate, allowing excess to drip off; sprinkle with nuts. Return to foil to cool.

56 thin pretzels shapes (squares or wheels)
12 oz bag of rolo candies, unwrapped
56 pecan halves

Steps:

  • 1. Arrange pretzels around the edges of a microwave-safe plate.
  • 2. Top each pretzel with an unwrapped Rolo candy.
  • 3. Microwave for 20-30 seconds, or until Rolo looks soft, but before it melts!
  • 4. Remove from microwave and press a pecan half into each soft Rolo.
  • 5. Cool before storing in airtight containers.
  • 6. Put into decorative tins for quick & delicious holiday gifts.
