- In a double boiler, melt caramels in water. Dip half of each pretzel into the hot caramel. Place on a greased sheet of foil to cool. , In a microwave, melt chocolate and shortening; stir until smooth. Dip the caramel-coated end of each pretzel into the chocolate, allowing excess to drip off; sprinkle with nuts. Return to foil to cool.

Steps:
- 1. Arrange pretzels around the edges of a microwave-safe plate.
- 2. Top each pretzel with an unwrapped Rolo candy.
- 3. Microwave for 20-30 seconds, or until Rolo looks soft, but before it melts!
- 4. Remove from microwave and press a pecan half into each soft Rolo.
- 5. Cool before storing in airtight containers.
- 6. Put into decorative tins for quick & delicious holiday gifts.

- Place on a greased sheet of foil to cool.
- Melt chocolate chips and shortening over low heat.
- Then dip caramel ends into the chocolate.
- Sprinkle with nuts.
- Return to foil to cool.
