RED HOT CINNAMON GUMMIES



Red Hot Cinnamon Gummies image

These spicy cinnamon gummies are the best healthy snack. They are sweet and spicy despite being very low in carbs, calories, and fat!

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 cups water
2 tbsp Joy Filled Eats Sweetener (or see alternatives in recipe notes) ()
5-10 or more drops of cinnamon oil (to taste)
1-2 scoops stevia extract (or your favorite stevia, optional)
3 tbsp gelatin (4 packets)
red food coloring (optional, I used a few drops)

Steps:

  • Combine first 3 ingredients in a small pot and heat over low to medium heat until very warm. TASTE IT. You can add more cinnamon oil or more sweetener (add stevia if you'd like). Tailor it to your taste buds.
  • Slowly whisk in the gelatin until dissolved. At this point I pour it through a mesh sieve to strain out any pieces of gelatin that didn't dissolve. Pour into silicone molds and refrigerate until firm.

This is a very good jelly for around Christmas time , I like to pour this over a block of cream cheese and serve with crackers but its great for breakfast too.

1 qt canned apple juice
1 pkg powdered pectin
4 1/2 c sugar
1 - 2 Tbsp red cinnamon candy (red hots)
( i used 4tbs = 1/3 cup )

Steps:

  • 1. Combine the juice and the pectin in a large saucepan ; bring to a full rolling boil.
  • 2. Add sugar and the red hots ; stirring constantly and return to a boil ; boil for 2 minutes. skim foam from top.
  • 3. Pour into sterilized hot jelly jars , filling to within 1/8" of top. Wipe the jar rim with a wet cloth. Top with lid and screw on ring.
  • 4. Process in a boiling water bath for 5 minutes , remove from the water bath and place on a towel and let cool.

4 cups unsweetened apple juice
1 package (1-3/4 ounces) powdered fruit pectin
6-1/2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground nutmeg

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, combine apple juice and pectin. Bring to a full rolling boil over high heat, stirring constantly. In a bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Stir into apple mixture; return to a full rolling boil. Boil and stir for 3 minutes., Remove from heat; skim off foam. Ladle hot mixture into seven hot sterilized half-pint jars, leaving 1/4-in. headspace. Wipe rims. Center lids on jars; screw on bands until fingertip tight. , Place jars into canner with simmering water, ensuring that they are completely covered with water. Bring to a boil; process for 5 minutes. Remove jars and cool.

I love to use this jelly to make a cheese dish at chistmas by mixing a small jar and pouring over 8 ozs. cream cheese, then serving it with ritz crackers.Makes a great and unusual dish for holiday meals.

4 cups apple juice
1 (1 3/4 ounce) package dry pectin
4 cups granulated sugar
1/4 cup red-hot candies

Steps:

  • Combine apple juice and pectin in a large microwave-safe bowl.
  • Cover with plastic bring to a boil on HIGH setting in the microwae for about 12 to 14 minutes.
  • Stir twice during cooking.
  • Remove from microwave; add sugar and red hots, stirring well.
  • Return to the microwave and cook until the mixture returns to a rolling boil, about 10 or 12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Boil hard for 1 minute.
  • Remove from microwave and skim any foam.
  • Pour into hot sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace.
  • Cap and Seal.
  • Process 5 minutes in a boiling water canner.

An old unique recipe that just has to make an appearance every year at the Christmas Eve table. It is a great sweet side dish that has such a wonderful flavor.

2 cups water
1 cup red cinnamon candies (also called cinnamon imperials)
2 (3 ounce) packages cherry Jell-O
2 cups applesauce (can use either plain or cinnamon)
1 cup heavy whipping cream
3 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Place water and red hots into a medium size pan. Whisk water and red hots constantly over medium heat till red hots are completely dissolved (remember to keep whisking because red hots like to stick at the bottom of pan). Bring to a boil and add jello; stir to dissolve 2 minutes. Take off heat and add applesauce. Pour mixture into a 8x8 inch glass baking dish or medium size glass bowl. Chill 4-5 hours or till set. When jello has set, beat heavy cream with mixer till almost stiff. Add sugar and vanilla and beat till stiff. Top jello with whipped cream and serve.
