Here's what you need: butter, american cheese, flour, salt, water, ground beef, onion, salsa, refried bean, taco seasoning, american cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, sour cream, shredded cheese

Number Of Ingredients 15

¼ cup butter, chopped
3 slices american cheese
1 cup flour
¼ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons water
1 lb ground beef
½ cup onion, chopped
½ cup salsa
1 refried bean
1 taco seasoning
6 slices american cheese
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 tomato, chopped
sour cream
shredded cheese

Steps:

  • Combine crust ingredients except water in food processor bowl.
  • Pulse until the mixture creates coarse crumbles. Add water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough forms a ball.
  • Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface. Place into 9-inch (22cm) pie plate, and trim the sides.
  • Bake at 400°F/204°C for 10-15 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
  • Cook onions and beef in a medium skillet until beef is browned and cooked through. Drain if watery.
  • Return beef to skillet, add salsa, and taco seasoning. Cook until bubbly.
  • Pour into baked crust. Top with refried beans, and cheese.
  • Bake 3 minutes or until cheese is melted.
  • Let cool. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and more cheese!
  • Enjoy!

Yum. Easy to make. It was too hot(spicy) for my daughter so next time I make it, I'll use plain Velvetta and DH can spice up his portion with Tabasco. This is a recipe from my church's recipe book, submitted by Cynthia Y-K. I thought, after the game was over(go figure), that this would've been a good dish to make for Super Bowl Sunday.

1 lb ground beef
1 package taco seasoning mix
1 (8 ounce) can Pillsbury Refrigerated Crescent Dinner Rolls
1 cup shredded lettuce
1/2 cup chopped tomato
2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
1/2 lb Velveeta Mexican cheese

Steps:

  • Brown meat.
  • Stir in tomato sauce and taco mix.
  • Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Unroll rolls in a baking dish.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  • Cover crust with meat mixture.
  • Cut the cheese into slices, distribute them on top of the meat mixture, and continue baking until cheese melts.
  • Top with lettuce and tomato.

Found this recipe on the net and have tweaked to my taste. This is where expression 'easy as pie' originated! Served with chunky guacamole and refried beans. MMMMMM.

4 c tortilla chips, crushed
1 egg white, beaten
2 tomatoes, diced
4 c iceberg lettuce, shredded
1 c cheddar cheese, shredded
1 pkg taco seasoning mix
2 clove garlic, minced
3/4 c onion, chopped
1 lb ground beef
3/4 tsp salt
1 c tomato salsa
1 dollop, sour cream

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • 2. Coat a 10 inch pie pan with cooking spray. Mix crushed tortilla chips with egg white, then place this mixture evenly on bottom and sides of pie pan to form crust.
  • 3. Bake for 15 minutes.
  • 4. Place small amount of olive oil in large skillet and cook onions and garlic until translucent, then add ground beef and cook until browned. Then add salt, taco seasoning mix and salsa and mix well. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • 5. Pour the beef mixture evenly onto the crust. Arrange the lettuce in a ring, around the pie, followed by rings of cheese and tomatoes.
  • 6. Slice pie and top with dollop of sour cream. Enjoy.
