Time 5m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 1/2 ounces tequila (about 3 tablespoons)
1 ounce amaretto liqueur (about 2 tablespoons)
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 1/2 small lemon)
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice (about 1 small lime)
Ice
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon sugar
Lemon wedge

Steps:

  • Rim the glass: On a small plate, mix together the sugar and salt. Rub a lemon wedge around the top edge of your glass to moisten it, then dip the glass into the sugar-salt mixture so that it sticks, tapping all the way around.
  • For one (or two) drinks: Fill a small cocktail shaker with ice. Add the tequila, amaretto, lemon juice, and lime juice. Tightly close and shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds (it's longer than you think). Strain into the rimmed glass. Enjoy immediately.
  • For a pitcher: In the bottom of a pitcher, stir together the tequila, amaretto, lemon juice, and lime juice (do not add ice to the pitcher). Serve immediately or place a piece of plastic wrap over the top of the pitcher and refrigerate for up to 4 hours. Shake just before serving.

SUE'S ITALIAN MARGARITAS

Sue's Italian Margaritas image

This refreshing margarita has citrus undertones and is the perfect mix of sweet and sour. It's actually a little on the sweet side. Amaretto is a special touch and gives this typically Mexican drink a little Italian flair. If you use the ingredients Susan recommends, you'll have the perfect cocktail. Cheers!

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 ounce(s) José Cuervo tequila
2 ounce(s) triple sec
1 ounce(s) amaretto
2 ounce(s) Rose's lime juice
4 ounce(s) Mountain Dew
- margarita salt
- ice cubes

Steps:

  • HINT:#1 Do NOT use any other lime juice or soda other than listed. You will not get the awesome taste of my recipe. I tried it and it doesn't taste good. HINT:#2 The recipe above is enough for 2-3 drinks depending on the size of glass used. I usually double the recipe that way you will have more for refills.
  • Mix together the first 5 ingredients in a blender. (If you double the ingredients then pour out half into a pitcher or you will have a mess.)
  • Add a couple large handfuls or a little more of ice cubes and blend/crush.
  • You will have small chunks of ice which is good. (If you doubled the recipe then repeat the process.)
  • Place margarita salt onto a small plate and wet the rims of your glass with the margarita liquid or water.
  • Dip into the salt.
  • Pour your drink. Sit back and enjoy how easy it goes down.
