2 1/2 to 3 pounds country style pork ribs (boneless or bone-in)
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 large onion (quartered and sliced 1/4- to 1/2-inch thick)
For the Sauce:
1/2 cup tomato ketchup
1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium)
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 tablespoon hot sauce (such as Texas Pete's)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 teaspoon celery seed
1/4 teaspoon black pepper (freshly ground)

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Trim excess fat from the pork ribs. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ribs in the vegetable oil.
  • Place onion slices in the slow cooker and arrange the seared country-style ribs over the onions.
  • Combine all of the remaining ingredients-ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar, cider vinegar, mustard, hot sauce, minced garlic, celery seed, and black pepper-for the sauce in a small bowl; pour over ribs and onions.
  • Cover and cook on low for 7 to 9 hours or on high for about 4 to 5 hours.

4-5 pound(s) country style pork ribs
1 package(s) dry ranch dressing mix
1 bottle(s) franks red hot hot sauce
1/2 stick(s) butter

Steps:

  • Place the ribs in the bottom of a large slow cooker. Sprinkle the ranch mix over top. Mix the hot sauce with the butter in small pan on stove top until butter is melted.
  • Pour over top of ribs and cook on low for 8 hours.
  • Serve ribs with sauce over top and blue cheese dressing for dipping.

1 pinch steak seasoning, or to taste
1 pinch garlic salt, or to taste
1 pinch ground black pepper, or to taste
1 pinch chili powder, or to taste
1 (4 pound) package boneless country-style pork ribs
1 cup barbecue sauce
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
¼ cup soy sauce
¼ cup teriyaki sauce
¼ cup orange juice
2 dashes hot pepper sauce, or to taste

Steps:

  • Mix the steak seasoning, garlic salt, black pepper, and chili powder in a small bowl. Rub the ribs all over with the seasoning mix, and place into the bottom of a slow cooker. Pour in barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, orange juice, and hot pepper sauce. Liquid should not cover the ribs all the way.
  • Set the cooker to Low, and cook until ribs are tender, about 8 hours.

3 -4 lbs boneless country-style pork ribs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 large onion, halved, thinly sliced
1/2 cup apple juice
1 (16 -18 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce, about 1 1/2 cups

Steps:

  • Lightly grease the crockery insert of a 5 to 6-quart slow cooker.
  • Wash pork, trim excess fat and pat dry with paper towels.
  • Put the sliced onions in the bottom of the slow cooker, then place pork on top.
  • Sprinkle the pork with salt and pepper, brown sugar, and minced garlic; turn the pork ribs to coat all pieces.
  • Pour apple juice evenly over the pork.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 7 to 8 hours. Drain liquids from the pork. Pour barbecue sauce over the pork and stir slightly to distribute the sauce.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 1 hour longer.
