1 cup long-grain white rice, cooked according to package instructions
2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon seasoned rice vinegar
1 tablespoon peeled and grated fresh ginger
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 pound asparagus, trimmed and cut diagonally into 2-inch pieces
1 pint cherry tomatoes
1 pound large shrimp, cleaned and cooked
1 teaspoon Asian (toasted) sesame oil

Steps:

  • n a small bowl, stir together the soy sauce, rice vinegar and ginger. Set aside. In a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat, toast the sesame seeds until golden, about 4 minutes. Transfer to a small bowl. In the same skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot. Add the asparagus and cook until tender-crisp, stirring frequently, about 5 minutes. Add the tomatoes and cook 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir the soy sauce mixture and shrimp into the asparagus mixture. Cook 1 minute to heat through. Remove the skillet from the heat, and stir in the sesame oil. To serve, spoon the rice onto 4 dinner plates, top with the shrimp mixture and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.

1 lb. Angel Hair Pasta, cooked al dente
1 lb. Shrimp, peeled
1 lb. Asperagus, peeled
2 clove Garlic, minced
2 tsp. Ginger, grated
1 Tbs. Sesame Oil
1 Jalapeno Chile, minced
1 Tbs. Sesame Seeds, toasted
2 Tbs. Canola Oil

Steps:

  • Over medium-high heat, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the Asparagus and cook until crisp-tender, about 4-5 minutes. Remove Asparagus and refresh with cold water. Keep pot of water boiling. Cut-off the Asparagus tips and reserve. Cut the Asparagus stalks into 1" pieces, diagonally. Reheat the Angel Hair in the boiling water, about 1-2 minutes. Drain the Angel Hair and transfer to a large bowl. Toss with 1 tablespoon of the Canola Oil. In a large saute pan over medium-high heat, heat the remaining Canola Oil. Add the Garlic and Ginger and, stirring constantly, cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the Shrimp and cook, stirring frequently, until pink, about 3 minutes. Add the Jalapeno and cut Asparagus. Saute until warmed, about 1 minute. Add the drained Angel Hair and cook, gently tossing the pasta, until warmed, about 2-3 minutes. Add the Sesame Oil and toss to combine. Transfer to a large serving bowl and garnish with the Asparagus tips and Sesame Seeds.

2 T Hoisin sauce
1/2 T rice wine
1 tsp sesame oil
1 T peanut oil
1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
2 tsp minced fresh ginger
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp coarse salt
1 lb P&D shrimp
1 bunch asparagus, sliced at very sharp angle into 2-in pieces, PARBOILED

Steps:

  • 1. Whisk first 3 ingredients in a bowl. 2. In large skillet, heat peanut oil and sesame seeds. Add ginger and garlic; stir-fry 30-60 seconds. Add hoisin mixture and stir. Add asparagus and salt(check saltiness first). Sauce should have a glazy consistency. 3. Add shrimp and cook until done.

1/8 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoons sesame oil
2 lbs asparagus, trimmed
1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
2 teaspoons seasoned rice vinegar
1 large green onion, chopped
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
2 cups prepared jasmine rice, keep warm

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
  • Combine salt, 2 teaspoons olive oil, and 1 teaspoon sesame oil in a small cup or bowl. In a jelly-roll type pan (10 1/2 x 15), toss asparagus with oil mixture; roast 10 to 12 minutes, until tender.
  • While asparagus is roasting, in a small bowl whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, green onion, and remaining 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil; set aside.
  • In a nonstick 12-inch skillet, heat 2 teaspoons olive oil over medium-high heat until very hot.
  • Add shrimp; sprinkle with red pepper and cook 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Arrange shrimp, asparagus, and rice on 2-4 plates; drizzle with desired amount of dressing.
