Instant Pot Pork Chops with Carrots and Potatoes image

This Instant Pot Pork Chops recipe has potatoes and carrots that are infused with the pork flavoring, making the perfect one pot meal.

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 Tablespoons cooking oil
4-5 pork chops (bone in)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 onion (sliced)
2 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
1 cup beef broth
1 cup Yukon gold potatoes (chopped)
1 cup baby carrots
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon dried mustard powder
Optional garnish: chopped parsley

Steps:

  • Turn on "sauté" mode on the instant pot. Heat 1 Tablespoon oil. Salt and pepper each pork chop on both sides.
  • Sauté pork chops until browned on each side. This will take about 1-2 minutes per side. They do not need to be cooked through. Take pork chops out of instant pot and add in one tablespoon cooking oil
  • Stir in onions and sauté for two to three minutes.
  • Pour in beef broth and deglaze the pan by scraping off any browned bits off left from the pork chops on the bottom of the pan. Make sure to get anything off the bottom to prevent burning while cooking.
  • Press "cancel" on instant pot and add in potatoes, carrots, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and dried mustard powder and stir.
  • Place pork chops on top of potatoes and carrots. Place lid on instant pot. make sure valve is set to the sealing position. Set button to "meat/stew" for 18 minutes.
  • When timer goes off quick release and serve. Garnish with chopped parsley.

4 pork bone-in pork chops, 3/4-inch thick
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 onion, chopped
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 cup vegetable broth, can use chicken broth instead
4 potatoes, scrubbed and eyes removed, can use more, if desired
1 cup baby carrots, can use more if you like

Steps:

  • Spray a 6-quart pressure cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Brown pork chops on both sides.
  • Season pork chops with salt and pepper.
  • Sprinkle pork chops with chopped onion.
  • Pour the broth and Worcestershire sauce over the mixture.
  • Spray your pressure cooker steamer insert with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Add the carrots and potatoes to the steamer basket.
  • Place the steamer basket over the pork chops.
  • Cover the pressure cooker and lock the lid.
  • Bring the pressure cooker to high pressure.
  • Cook pork chops and vegetables for 13 minutes.
  • Release the pressure following your pressure cooker's manufacturer's directions.

4 to 6 medium pork chops
4 to 6 medium potatoes
4 large carrots
2 medium onions
1/4 c butter
1 c water
to taste salt
to taste pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Melt butter over medium to high heat
  • 2. Salt and pepper port chops and sear on each side just enough to take the pick away
  • 3. Peel and cut up potatoes, carrots and onions while pork is searing.
  • 4. Add the cup of water and layer all of the veggies over top of the pork. Turn heat down to low to medium and cover with a tight lid. Simmer for an hour and half depending on the thickness of your chops. If they are thin, may take less time. It is done when potatoes and carrots and pork is tender and falling apart.
  • 5. When serving, mash the potatoes with your fork and cover with the juice from the pot. Delish!!!!!!!

1/2 teaspoon garlic pepper blend

1 can (14-1/2 ounces) chicken broth, divided

  • In a shallow bowl, mix 1/4 cup flour, mustard, garlic pepper and seasoned salt. Add pork chops, 1 at a time, and toss to coat; shake off excess. , Select saute or browning setting on a 6-qt. electric pressure cooker. Adjust for medium heat; add oil. When oil is hot, brown pork in batches. Add 1-1/2 cups broth to pressure cooker. Cook 30 seconds, stirring to loosen browned bits. Press cancel. Return all pork to pressure cooker., Lock lid; close pressure-release valve. Adjust to pressure-cook on high for 3 minutes. Quick-release pressure. A thermometer inserted in pork should read at least 145°. Remove pork to a serving plate and keep warm., In a small bowl, mix remaining 1/4 cup flour and 1/4 cup broth until smooth; stir into pressure cooker. Select saute setting and adjust for low heat. 8 center-cut pork chops
1 cup water
1 small onion
4 -6 medium diced potatoes
3 tablespoons steak sauce or 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup butter
pepper
salt
carrot (optional I personally did not use)

Steps:

  • brown pork chops in pressure cooker on both sides (use tongs easier) in 1/2 of the butter then salt and pepper well. (NOTE - Do NOT cover pan yet).
  • have your potatoes and carrots already peeled and chunked into healthy meaty portions.
  • have your onion diced into small peices.
  • Take out pork chops with tongs and set aside for a moment while you add the onions and rest of butter to pork fat. then add potatoes and carrots (if using) then pork chops add the cup of water and the steak sauce ( the recipe called originally for Worcestershire sauce but I liked the steak sauce better) Put lid on and lock bring to high pressure once pressure is established put timer on for 15 minutes, Then use the regular release method and it is unbelievable a great dinner with soooo much taste in less than 30 minute (including prep if your good with a Knife)
