DATE BARS FROM THE PAST
Remember those wonderful date bars that you could make from a mix? I grew up eating these every chance I got. And now this mix is no where to be found. I found the recipe. If this isn't recipe isn't the same recipe, the results are just as wonderful!

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- 2. Prepare Date Filling: Cook dates, 1/4 cup sugar and water over low heat about 10 minutes; stirring constantly, until thickened; set aside to cool
- 3. Grease 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Mix brown sugar and margarine; mix in remaining ingredients until crumbly. Press ½ of the crumb mixture evenly in bottom of pan. Spread with Date Filling. Top with remaining crumb mixture; press lightly.
- 4. Bake 25 to 35 minutes or until light brown; cool slightly. Cut into 2 x 1½-inch bars.
PAST AAND SHRIMP WITH DILL CREAM SAUCE
Steps:
- Boil pasta in a medium size sauce pan until al dente. While the pasta is boiling sautee the peeled shrimp in a medium size sautee pan in enough olive oil to coat the pan. When the shrimp is pink in color add the cooked pasta to the sautee pan and toss. Turn off the heat and add the salt and pepper to taste, garlic, dill and cream to the pasta and shrimp and toss. Serve while hot.
BLAST FROM THE PAST LOW CARB HAM AND SCALLIONS WITH CREAM CHEESE
Put these out on a buffet and they are the first appetizers to vanish. You just might eat more than you serve.

Steps:
- Spread each slice of ham with cream cheese and place a scallion on the long end, rolling them up jelly roll fashion. Trim dark ends of scallions.
- Secure with toothpicks and then cut between toothpicks to make little bite-sized pieces.
