2 packages pitted pkg. mango (dried)
1/2 lb. lemon peel (dried )
1/4 lb. seedless li hing mui (Chinese preserved dried)
1/2 lb. light brown sugar
2 tablespoons Hawaiian salt
2 tablespoons whiskey
1/2 teaspoon Chinese five spice powder
5 cloves
3/4 cups fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup prune mui

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients and store in airtight container.
  • Mix ingredients and keep in refrigerator until ready to serve.
  • Serve with salad greens or whole pieces of romaine lettuce.

A good friend gave me a container of this stuff on Christmas, what a wonderful treat it was - it was similar to what my aunt's recipe is but this one was much easier. Enjoy everyone!

8 - 12 oz pkg. pitted prunes
3 Tbsp hawaiian or kosher salt
1 large pkg. lemon peel seed
1 large pkg. li hing mui seed
1 tsp chinese 5-spice powder
1 box brown sugar
2 1/2 Tbsp whiskey
8 whole cloves
1 1/2 c lemon juice, fresh

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all together & soak for 3 - 4 days. Serve

1/2 tablespoon salt
2 lemons, juiced (about 1/2 cup)

  • Refrigerate.
