A fast and healthy breakfast cereal or high-energy snack. Oatmeal made with coconut, raisins, cranberries, walnuts. Brown rice can be used in place of oatmeal.

Steps:
- Pour the milk and salt into a saucepan, and bring to a boil. Stir in the oats, maple syrup, raisins, and cranberries. Return to a boil, then reduce heat to medium. Cook for 5 minutes. Stir in walnuts and coconut, and let stand until it reaches your desired thickness. Spoon into serving bowls, and top with yogurt and honey, if desired.

My grandmother used to always have these cookies when we went to visit. They are the best oatmeal cookie you'll ever eat.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Beat brown sugar, white sugar, and butter together with an electric mixer in a large bowl until smooth. Add 1 egg one at a time, allowing the first to blend into the butter mixture before adding the next with the vanilla.
- Stir flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder together in a bowl. Beat into the butter mixture until just incorporated into a dough. Fold oats, crispy rice cereal, and coconut into the dough; mixing just enough to evenly combine.
- Drop cookie dough by teaspoonful onto baking sheets.
- Bake in preheated oven until browned, 8 to 9 minutes. Cool cookies slightly on baking sheets before moving to cooling racks to cool completely.

- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 2 large cookie sheets. Cream butter and sugars in mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs, beat together. Add vanilla, baking powder and baking soda. Then add the flour. Mix until well combined. Stir in coconut and nuts. Mix in oatmeal.
- Drop on greased cookie sheets by the tsp., spacing about 1/2 inch apart. Bake 12 to 15 minutes, just until the edges begin to brown. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.

I combined a favorite bar recipe and cookie recipe to come up with these cookies. They stay chewy and keep well.

- In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in molasses and vanilla. Combine the oats, flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in walnuts, chips and cranberries., Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.

quick and easy to throw together, taste wonderful, especially when warm, travels well. my mom has made these bars to death....but they are well worth it.

- combine all ingredients, except preserves.
- reserve 1 cup mixture.
- press remaining mixture into a greased 9x13 inch pan.
- spread with preserves to 1/2 inch of pan.
- Sprinkle with remaining mixture.
- Bake at 400* for 25-30 minutes , until golden.
