This incredible pecan pie recipe came from my mother-in-law. Her pies were a were a hit everywhere she took them and I never saw anyone not enjoy each mouthful! She was kind enough to pass this recipe on to me, and it's one that I really enjoy making. -Beverly Materne, Reeves, Louisiana

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs, well beaten
1 cup dark corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup pecan halves
1 unbaked pastry shell (9 inches)

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the sugar, flour, salt, eggs, corn syrup and vanilla. Stir in pecans. Pour into pastry shell. Cover pastry edges with foil to prevent excess browning. , Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 15 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.

This recipe is a classic Southern Pecan Pie. It is made with simple ingredients including sugar, corn syrup, butter, eggs, and pecans.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/4 cup melted butter
3 eggs, beaten
1 tablespoon Vanilla
1 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1 unbaked deep pie crust

Steps:

  • Combine the sugar, corn syrup and melted butter.
  • Add the beaten eggs and pecans.
  • Mix well.
  • Pour filling into unbaked pie shell.
  • Cover the pie with foil bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • Remove foil and bake 20 to 25 minutes uncovered.
  • INSERT A TOOTHPICK in the center of the pie. It should NOT be watery. The pie filling needs to stick to the toothpick.
  • Allow pie to cool 2 hours before cutting it.
  • Pie freezes well
