SPICY CINNAMON MOCHA

Warm yourself up from the inside out with this lightly spicy cinnamon mocha latte. Simple to make, this fabulous coffee recipe tastes fantastic. Swap out your usual coffee for a special treat today.

1/3 c coffee grounds
1 t cinnamon
3/4 c half and half
2 T cocoa powder
2 t sugar
1/4 t cayenne pepper
1 t vanilla
Whipped cream
Cinnamon sticks, optional for garnish

Steps:

  • Add fresh grounds to coffeemaker. Sprinkle cinnamon over grounds, then brew a pot of coffee as normal.
  • While coffee brews, add half and half to saucepan. Turn heat to medium low, and add cocoa powder, sugar, and cayenne pepper. Stir to dissolve. Let heat while coffee brews, making sure the half and half doesn't boil. Once it steams, remove from the heat and stir in vanilla.
  • Pour half and half mixture into coffee cups, then pour cinnamon coffee over it. Top with whipped cream and a shake of cinnamon. Garnish with cinnamon sticks, if desired.

1/3 cup ground coffee (not instant coffee granules)
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup 2% milk
2 to 3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cinnamon sticks, optional
Whipped cream, optional

Steps:

  • In a coffeemaker basket, combine the coffee and ground cinnamon. Prepare 4 cups brewed coffee according to manufacturer's directions., Meanwhile, combine the milk, sugar, cocoa and vanilla in a saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat for 5-7 minutes or until small bubbles appear on the sides of the pan, stirring occasionally (do not boil). Pour hot milk mixture into four coffee cups, then add cinnamon-flavored coffee. Garnish with cinnamon sticks and whipped cream if desired.

12 tablespoons (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, plus more for buttering the pan
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons instant coffee
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Kosher salt
2 large eggs
1/3 cup all-purpose flour

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Butter a 9-inch square baking pan.
  • Combine the butter, sugar, cocoa powder, instant coffee, vanilla, cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the butter melts, then remove from the heat and let cool until just warm (the sugar will not be dissolved). Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until the batter is glossy and smooth. Stir in the flour until combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake until the brownies are set, 20 to 25 minutes. Let cool in the pan, then cut into 16 squares.
