Spaghetti casserole is the definition of comfort food! Hearty, delicious, and an easy way to make and eat spaghetti.

1 16 ounce package spaghetti
2 pounds ground beef
1 1/2 cups sour cream
1 teaspoon garlic salt (with parsley flakes)
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
2 26.5 oz spaghetti sauce jars ((or marinara jars))

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350. Cook the spaghetti according to the package directions, then drain.
  • While the spaghetti is cooking, add the ground beef to a large skillet. Cook, breaking into small pieces, until browned and cooked through. Drain the grease, then return the ground beef to the skillet.
  • Add the spaghetti sauce, sour cream, garlic salt, oregano, and basil to the skillet, and stir to combine. Add the noodles and 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese to the skillet, and stir to combine.
  • Pour the casserole into a 9 x 13 baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and the parmesan cheese over the top.
  • Cover the casserole with foil and bake 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and browned.

1-1/2 pounds uncooked spaghetti
3 pounds ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
2/3 cup chopped green pepper
1 teaspoon minced garlic
2 cans (10-3/4 ounces each) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
2 cans (10-3/4 ounces each) condensed tomato soup, undiluted
1-1/3 cups water
1 can (8 ounces) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
3 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided

Steps:

  • Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Meanwhile, in two large skillets, cook the beef, onion and green pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Drain. Stir in the soups, water and mushrooms., Drain spaghetti. Add spaghetti and 1 cup cheese to beef mixture. Transfer to two greased 13x9-in. baking dishes. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Cover and freeze one casserole for up to 3 months. Bake remaining casserole, uncovered, at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until cheese is melted., To use frozen casserole: Thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Cover and bake at 350° for 1 to 1-1/4 hours or until heated through and cheese is melted.

1 medium onion, chopped
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 cloves garlic , minced
1 pound ground ground chuck
1 (14 1/2-ounce) can tomatoes (crushed or diced)
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 tablespoon parsley , chopped
1 scant teaspoon sugar, optional
1 (4-ounce) jar sliced mushrooms, optional
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, or to taste
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
8 ounces thin spaghetti
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Lightly grease a 2 1/2-quart shallow casserole dish or spray it with nonstick cooking spray. In a large skillet or sauté pan over medium-low heat, sauté onion in olive oil until onion is tender.
  • Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute longer.
  • Add ground beef, stirring to break up.
  • Cook until meat is no longer pink ; drain off excess fat.
  • Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce, parsley, and sugar and mushrooms, if using, along with crushed pepper and oregano. Bring mixture to a simmer . Taste and add salt and pepper, as needed.
  • Continue simmering sauce for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Meanwhile, cook spaghetti in boiling salted water as directed on package.
  • Drain well in a colander and then stir into meat mixture.
  • Place half of the spaghetti and meat mixture in a 2-quart casserole and sprinkle with half of the mozzarella cheese and half of the Parmesan cheese.
  • Repeat with remaining spaghetti mixture and cheeses.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until casserole is hot and cheese has melted.

1 (16 ounce) package spaghetti
2 pounds ground beef
¼ cup chopped onion
2 (26.5 ounce) cans meatless spaghetti sauce
1 (16 ounce) container fat-free sour cream
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
½ cup Parmesan cheese
salt and black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a deep 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Stir in the spaghetti. Boil the pasta until cooked through but still firm to the bite, 8 to 10 minutes. Drain well.
  • Brown ground beef and onion in a large skillet over high heat; drain fat. Stir in the spaghetti sauce, sour cream, and 1 cup of the mozzarella. Mix in the cooked pasta. Transfer pasta mixture to prepared baking dish. Top with remaining 1 cup of mozzarella and the Parmesan cheese. Cover pan with aluminum foil.

3 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons margarine
1 large onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup tomato juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 (6 ounce) package spaghetti
1/2 lb cubed cheddar cheese
3/4 cup stuffed green olive (optional)

Steps:

  • Saute chopped onion and green pepper in melted butter or margarine.
  • Add ground beef, brown it and add seasonings.
  • Mix together in a bowl ketchup, tomato juice, sugar and worcestershire sauce.
  • Add to beef mixture.
  • Cook spaghetti, rinse in water, then mix in cheese and olives.
  • In a greased casserole dish, put spaghetti mixture on bottom and meat mixture on top.
  • Bake in 325 degree oven about 35 minutes.
