Homemade Cheese Rice A Roni image

Homemade Rice A Roni is an easy make at home version of a favorite treat.

4 ounces uncooked spaghetti, broken into pieces
1 1/4 cups uncooked long grain white rice
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2- 14.5 ounce cans chicken or beef broth ( or use 3 3/4 cups water with bouillon if you don't have broth)
2 tablespoons butter or oil
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup Italian blend cheese
1/4 cup colby jack cheese

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a skillet or sauce pan.
  • Add rice and pasta. Stir until rice has turned opaque and pasta has browned slightly. This takes 2-3 minutes.
  • Add seasonings and stir to coat rice and pasta.
  • Add broth (or water and bouillon). Bring to a boil and stir well.
  • Reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 18-20 minutes or until rice and pasta is tender.
  • Stir in cheese until cheese is melted.
  • Serve and enjoy!

2 cups elbow macaroni (uncooked)
1 lb lean ground beef
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can tomato soup
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 medium green pepper, diced
1/4 cup chopped pimiento, optional
2 cups colby cheese, cubed
1 (3 ounce) can French-fried onions

Steps:

  • Cook macaroni according to package directions, drain.
  • Brown ground beef; drain.
  • Then add to beef soups, green pepper, pimento and cooked macaroni.
  • Place half the mixture in a greased 2 quart casserole.
  • Sprinkle with half the cheese and onions.
  • Top with remaining macaroni mixture and cheese.
  • Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with remaining onions and bake 5 minutes longer.

2 cups (7 oz.) seashell macaroni, uncooked
1 lb ground beef
1 can of Great Value cream of mushroom soup
1 can of Great Value tomato soup
1 medium green pepper, chopped
2 cups of KRAFT shredded cheddar cheese
1 can French onions

Steps:

  • Cook noodles and drain. Brown burger and drain. Add soups, green pepper, and cooked noodles to the burger.
  • Put 1/2 the mixture in a greased 2 quart casserole. Sprinkle with 1/2 of the cheese and onions. Top with remaining mixture and cheese.
  • Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes. Sprinkle remaining onions and bake 5 more minutes.

3/4 cup raw white rice
14 1/2 ounces broth (any flavor)
2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine

  • In medium skillet saute' broken spaghetti pieces in butter, stirring constantly, until the spaghetti begins to brown.
  • Add rice, stirring until the rice is well coated with the butter and the spaghetti browns a little more Carefully pour in broth.

We used the four-cheese Rice-A-Roni as Whitney suggests, and it added a ton of flavor to this casserole. The buttery, crunchy bread topping is delicious and adds flavor too. A tasty, easy dinner recipe to have in your back pocket on a busy day.

3-4 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
1 box four cheese flavored Rice-a-Roni rice (or any kind of rice you desire)
1 1/2-2 c chicken broth
1 can(s) cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
1 c all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 c milk
1 tsp salt
1 stick butter (melted)
1/2 tsp pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Rinse chicken and season to your taste. You can bake or grill the chicken however you like. Cut into bite-size pieces and set aside.
  • 2. Grease a 9x13 baking pan. Set aside. Prepare rice according to directions. Dump the rice into the bottom of the dish and smooth over.
  • 3. Pour the chicken on top of the rice so it's completely covered. Set aside. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • 4. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, stir and mix together the cream of mushroom soup and chicken broth (use more or less of the broth depending on how "soupy" you would like it - no more than 2 cups). Pour the soup mixture evenly over the chicken. Set aside.
  • 5. To make the breading, in another medium-sized mixing bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Melt butter in a separate bowl and then add to the flour mixture.
  • 6. Add the milk and stir until smooth and creamy (should have the same consistency as pancake batter).
  • 7. Pour the breading mixture on top of the soup mixture. Bake in the oven 35-40 mins.
  • 8. Enjoy!!

1 box(es) macaroni, elbow
1 pound(s) ground beef
3 can(s) cream of mushroom soup
3 can(s) tomato soup
1 can(s) french fried onions
1 jar(s) green olives, sliced
1 package(s) shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350. Cook macaroni as recomended on box, drain. Brown ground beef, drain, and add to macaroni. Mix in soups and green olives in large bowl.
  • Put into large casserole dish until half full. Sprinkle half bag of cheese, and half of fried onions. Add rest of mixture. Cover and bake 35-45 minutes
  • Sprinkle remaining cheese and onions on top and cook uncovered 2-5 minutes or until onions are golden brown.
