CINNAMON CRANBERRY PUNCH

1/2 cup water
1/3 cup red cinnamon candies
1/4 cup sugar
1 can (46 oz) pineapple juice, chilled
1 bottle (2 liter) cranberry flavored lemon-lime carbonated beverage, chilled
Ice cubes
1 cup fresh or frozen (thawed) cranberries
Cinnamon sticks, if desired

Steps:

  • In 1-quart saucepan, mix water, candies and sugar. Heat to boiling over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer uncovered until candy is dissolved, stirring constantly. Cool completely, about 30 minutes. Refrigerate, if desired.
  • In punch bowl, mix syrup mixture and pineapple juice. Just before serving, stir in carbonated beverage. Serve over ice. Garnish with cranberries and cinnamon sticks.

2 cups fresh cranberries
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup red cinnamon candies
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 cup orange juice (not orange punch)
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 orange, sliced thin

Steps:

  • In a large stainless or enamel pot combine cranberriea and 3 cups water.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • reduce to a simmer and simmer uncovered for 5 min.
  • Cool and pour into a blender and whirl until smooth.
  • Pour back into pan and add remaining ingredients except orange slices, along with 5 cups water.
  • Bring to a boil, reduce and simmer 5 min.
  • Add orange slices.
  • Serve hot or cold.
