A rich whipped chocolate mixture from our Test Kitchen is used to flavor coffee and to make hot chocolate. Set out a small serving bowl, spoon some of the mixture into mugs and add hot coffee or milk.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup sugar
1 cup baking cocoa
1 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 cups heavy whipping cream, whipped
8 cups hot strong brewed coffee or whole milk

Steps:

  • In a large heavy saucepan, whisk the sugar, cocoa and water until smooth. Cook and whisk over medium-low heat until mixture forms soft peaks when whisk is lifted and resembles thick hot fudge sauce, about 35 minutes. Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla and salt. Transfer to a bowl; refrigerate for at least 2 hours., Beat the chocolate mixture. Add 2 cups whipped cream; mix well. Fold in remaining whipped cream. For each serving, place about 1/2 cup chocolate cream in 2/3 cup coffee or milk; stir to blend.

3 oz. BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, chopped
3 cups milk
1/2 cup MAXWELL HOUSE INTERNATIONAL, any café flavor

Steps:

  • Microwave chocolate and milk in medium microwavable bowl on HIGH 4 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Whisk or stir until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended.
  • Stir in flavored instant coffee. Pour into 4 large cups or mugs.
  • Garnish each serving with 2 Tbsp. thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping and 1/2 tsp. grated chocolate, if desired.

6 tablespoons butter, softened
1/3 cup shortening
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup sugar
1 large egg, room temperature
2 tablespoons hot caramel ice cream topping
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons dark roast instant coffee granules
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 cups (9 ounces) dark chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, cream butter, shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, ice cream topping and vanilla. In another bowl, whisk flour, coffee granules, baking soda and salt; gradually beat into creamed mixture. Fold in chocolate chips., Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes or until set. Cool on pans 2 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool. Freeze option: Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto waxed paper-lined baking sheets; freeze until firm. Transfer to airtight container; return to freezer. To use, bake frozen cookies as directed, increasing time by 1-2 minutes.

I created this recipe for my little sister, Abbey, who's a latte fanatic. She was blown away, and drained it to the last drop! This makes one VERY large, indulgent latte, and could probably serve two. Enjoy!

1 ½ cups milk
1 tablespoon heavy cream
⅛ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon white sugar
½ cup brewed espresso
¼ cup white chocolate chips, chopped

Steps:

  • Combine the milk and cream in a saucepan, and whisk over high heat until hot and frothy. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla and sugar. Whisk together hot espresso and white chocolate chips in a mug until smooth. If you are making two, pour half into another mug. Top with the frothy hot milk and stir to blend in the flavoring.
