1 cup sugar
1 cup dark corn syrup
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 pound milk chocolate candy coating, melted

Steps:

  • In a heavy saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup and vinegar. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves. Cook without stirring until the temperature reaches 300° (hard-crack stage) on a candy thermometer. Do not overcook. , Remove from the heat and quickly stir in baking soda. Pour into a buttered 13x9-in. pan. Do not spread candy; mixture will not fill pan. , When mixture is cool, break into bite-sized pieces. Dip into melted chocolate; place on waxed paper until the chocolate is firm. Store candy in an airtight container.

1-1/2 teaspoons butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup dark corn syrup
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 tablespoon baking soda
1/2 pound white candy coating, melted
1/2 pound dark chocolate candy coating, melted

Steps:

  • Grease a 13-in. x 9-in. pan with butter; set aside. In a large heavy saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup and vinegar. Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Cook, without stirring, until a candy thermometer reads 290° (soft-crack stage). , Remove from the heat; stir in baking soda. Pour into prepared pan but do not spread; cool. Break into pieces., Dip each candy halfway into white candy coating; allow excess to drip off. Place on waxed paper-lined baking sheets until set. Dip plain half of candies into dark chocolate coating; allow excess to drip off. Return to waxed paper until set. Store in an airtight container.

When I first saw this simple recipe I knew it was one I wanted to try. You see, Butterfinger is one of my favorite candy bars... and the more chocolate the better! Toss in some angel food cake and you've got a real winner! This would be a great way to introduce kids to the kitchen.

7 1/4 c cold milk
1 1/4 pkg instant chocolate pudding mix(5 .9 ounce pack)
1 1/4 pkg instant vanilla pudding mix
2 1/2 2.1 ounce bars butterfinger candy bars (crushed

Steps:

  • 1. Place half of cake cubes in the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish. Prepare chocolate and vanilla puddings with cold milk according to the package directions.
  • 2. Spread prepared chocolate pudding over cake cubes in the dish . Top with Half the crushed candy . Distriute remaining cake cubes over candy and top with vanilla pudding and remaining candy. Chill till serving time.

1-1/2 cups egg whites (about 10 large)
3/4 cup cake flour
1-1/2 cups plus 2 tablespoons sugar, divided
1/4 cup baking cocoa
1-1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
CHOCOLATE FLUFF FROSTING:
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 cup sifted confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup baking cocoa
Dash salt

Steps:

  • Place egg whites in a large bowl; let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Sift the flour, 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar and cocoa three times. Set aside. , Add cream of tartar, vanilla and salt to egg whites; beat on medium speed until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar, about 2 tablespoons at a time, beating on high until stiff glossy peaks form and sugar is dissolved. Gradually fold in flour mixture, about 1/2 cup at a time. Mixture will be thick. , Gently spoon into an ungreased 10-in. tube pan. Cut through the batter with a knife to remove air pockets. Bake on the lowest oven rack at 350° for 40-45 minutes or until lightly browned and entire top appears dry. Immediately invert pan; cool completely, about 1 hour. , Run a knife around side and center tube of pan. ¼ teaspoon salt
1 ¼ teaspoons cream of tartar
1 ¼ cups white sugar
1 ¼ cups confectioners' sugar
1 ¼ cups cake flour
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ¼ teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • In a medium bowl, mix confectioners' sugar, cake flour, and cocoa. Sift together 2 times, and set aside.
  • In a clean large bowl, whip egg whites, salt, and cream of tartar with an electric mixer on high speed until very stiff. Fold in white sugar 2 tablespoons at a time while continuing to mix. Fold in flour mixture, a little at a time, until fully incorporated. Stir in vanilla. Pour into a 10 inch tube pan.
