Steps:
- Stir 1/2 cup sugar and 2-2/3 cups flour together. Cut in butter; mix until crumbly. Pat into the bottom of a greased 13"x9" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes; remove from oven. In a separate bowl, mix together eggs, lemon juice and remaining sugar and flour, blending well. Pour over baked crust and return to oven for an additional 20 minutes. Cool. While still slightly warm, dust with powdered sugar. Makes about 1-1/2 dozen.

- In a large bowl, beat butter and the 1/2 cup powdered sugar with an electric mixer until creamy. Add 2 cups of the flour and beat until blended. Spread mixture evenly over bottom of a greased 9x13-inch baking pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, in a medium-size bowl, beat eggs with an electric mixer until blended. Beat in granulated sugar until mixture is thick and lemon-coloured. Add lemon peel, lemon juice, remaining 1/3 cup flour, and baking powder; eat until mixture is smooth. Pour lemon mixture over hot baked crust. Return pan to oven and bake until topping is pale golden (15 to 20 minutes.) Sift powdered sugar lightly over top and let cool. Cut into about 2-1/4 by 2-1/2-inch bars. Store airtight Makes about 20 bars.
