I love the crunchy chicken skin and brown sugar pan sauce that comes out of this.

8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
salt and ground black pepper to taste
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
4 cloves garlic, minced
¼ cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon honey
½ teaspoon dried oregano
¼ teaspoon dried thyme
¼ teaspoon dried basil

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper.
  • Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken, skin-side down, and sear until brown, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Remove chicken to a plate.
  • Melt remaining butter in the skillet. Add garlic; cook and stir until fragrant, 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar, honey, oregano, thyme, and basil until well combined. Return chicken to the skillet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until chicken is no longer pink at the bone and the juices run clear, 25 to 30 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted near the bone should read 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

4 skin-on chicken thighs
salt and ground black pepper to taste
¼ cup butter, divided
½ red onion, sliced
8 cloves garlic, minced
4 baby red potatoes, quartered
1 red bell pepper, diced
⅓ cup sriracha sauce
⅓ cup brown sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper.
  • Melt 3 tablespoons butter in a large oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat. Place chicken skin-side down in the skillet; cook until browned, about 3 minutes. Flip and cook until second side is browned, 3 to 4 minutes. Transfer to a plate. Drain excess grease if desired.
  • Heat remaining 1 tablespoon butter in the skillet. Add onion and garlic; cook and stir until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Stir in potatoes and red bell pepper; cook until tender, 5 to 10 minutes. Place chicken thighs on top.
  • Mix sriracha sauce and brown sugar together in a bowl; pour evenly over chicken.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the chicken reads 165 degrees F (74 degrees C) and potatoes are browned, about 30 minutes.

2 tablespoons salted butter
1 teaspoon chopped fresh garlic
4 (4 ounce) skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1 teaspoon salt
ground black pepper to taste
4 tablespoons brown sugar
¾ cup water
1 tablespoon cornstarch

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in garlic and cook until slightly brown, about 2 minutes. Add chicken and season with salt and pepper. Cook until chicken is no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, 12 to 15 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
  • Sprinkle brown sugar over chicken and cook until melted into the chicken, about 5 minutes. Remove chicken to a plate and keep warm.
  • Stir together water and cornstarch in a small bowl. Pour into the skillet and increase heat to medium-high. Cook and stir, picking up all the little bits from the pan, until thickened, 3 to 5 minutes. Serve over the chicken.

I got this recipe by using the sauce from "Brown Sugar Chicken" on this website and pouring it over my chicken and veggies in my crockpot. It was delicious. You can add more veggies if there's room in your pot.

1 onion
1 sweet potato
1 whole chicken, cut up
1 cup brown sugar
