GRILLED SOY-SESAME ASPARAGUS
This asparagus pairs especially well with Asian types of grilled foods, such as kebabs or satays.

Steps:
- Preheat grill for high heat.
- In a bowl, mix sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, and brown sugar. Place asparagus in the bowl, and toss to coat.
- Lightly oil a fine-mesh grill grate. Place asparagus on grate, and cook 8 minutes, until tender but firm. Garnish with sesame seeds to serve.

- Cut asparagus into 2" pieces.
- Heat oil in wok or large skillet (high heat).
- Add asparagus, stir fry for 1 minute.
- Add water& sugar to the asparagus, cover and steam for 2 minutes, shake the pan a few times Combine the remaining ingredients.
- Uncover wok and add remaining ingredients and cook for 1 minute, stirring to coat the asparagus with the spice mixture.
- Serve immediately.

- 1. Toast your sesame seeds in a thin layer in a shallow pan. Bake at 350F, for 4 to 6 minutes, stirring twice. Set aside until needed.
- 2. Combine first 4 ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and set aside.
- 3. Snap off tough ends of asparagus. Cook asparagus in hot olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring often, 6 minutes or until crisp-tender, Add the chicken broth mixture to asparagus, cook stirring constantly, 1 minute or until thoroughly heated. Stir in pepper. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve immediately. 4-6 servings
ASIAN SHRIMP AND ASPARAGUS SOUP

- Heat the oil and add the shallots and saute. Add the water, bouquet garni and bring to a boil and simmer, covered for 10 minutes. Add the asparagus and simmer 5 minutes or until tender; add the shrimp and simmer just until the shrimp turn pink. Add the mushrooms, and simmer to heat through (if too much liquid has evaporated, add more to keep level constant).
- Remove the soup from the heat, remove the bouquet garni and stir in the lime juice to taste and cilantro. Adjust seasoning with salt and crushed red pepper.

- Place a steamer insert into a saucepan and fill with water to just below the bottom of the steamer. Bring water to a boil. Add asparagus, cover, and steam until slightly tender, 2 to 4 minutes.
- Whisk soy sauce and honey together in a bowl until glaze is smooth.
- Set oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven's broiler. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and brush with olive oil.
- Place salmon fillet and asparagus on the prepared baking sheet; season with salt and pepper.
- Broil in the preheated oven for 5 minutes. Drizzle 2/3 of the glaze over salmon and asparagus. Broil until fish flakes easily with a fork, 3 to 5 minutes. Drizzle remaining glaze over salmon.
