1 cup uncooked instant rice
1 cup milk or water
1/4 cup raisins

  • Mix all ingredients in 2-quart saucepan.
  • Heat to boiling, stirring constantly; remove from heat. Cover and let stand 5 minutes.

2 tablespoons butter
¼ cup brown sugar
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
1 pinch ground nutmeg
2 apples - peeled, cored, and finely chopped
1 ½ cups water
¾ cup uncooked short-grain white rice
2 cups milk
⅛ cup brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon butter
½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Mix in brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg. Add apples; cook and stir until apples have softened, about 10 minutes. Set aside.
  • Bring water and rice to a boil in a medium saucepan. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until rice is tender and water has been absorbed, about 20 minutes.
  • Stir 1 1/2 cups milk into rice mixture; cook until hot, 2 to 3 minutes. Add brown sugar and stir until well combined. Cook over medium heat until thick and creamy, 15 to 20 minutes. Stir in cooked apples, remaining 1/2 cup milk, and beaten egg. Cook, stirring constantly, until heated through, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla extract. Serve warm.

1/2 cup water

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, melt butter; add apples. Cook and stir over medium heat for 6-7 minutes or until almost tender. Dissolve cornstarch in water; add to skillet. Add brown sugar and raisins; bring to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat; stir in lemon juice. Serve warm.

I use to eat this as a kid. It is quick and easy. You can make it with left over cooked rice. I love this Cold,Warm and even Hot..

2 c rice, cooked and hot or cold
1 c raisins
1/8 c sugar
1 Tbsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
2 Tbsp milk or cream (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. place cooked rice in a bowl
  • 2. Mix your sugar and cinnamon together
  • 3. Put in raisins and mix.
  • 4. Put your sugar mixture in the rice stir. You can add some milk or cream and or vanilla but I like it like it is.
  • 5. This can be eaten hot or cold. I do not measure the ingredients. You can add a little at a time until you get what you like for the flavor.

  • Cook rice according to package directions. Stir 2 tablespoons butter into hot rice. Add applesauce, apples, brown sugar, 1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon and salt. 1 cup golden raisin
1 1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
8 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup butter

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Lightly grease a 13x9-inch baking dish.
  • In large bowl, combine sugar, raisins, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • Add apples, tossing gently to coat.
  • Place apples in prepared baking dish.
  • For topping, in large bowl, combine brown sugar and flour.
  • Using a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.

1 tablespoon all purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Vanilla ice cream

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Butter 9 x 13 1/2-inch glass baking dish.
  • For Topping:
  • Mix old-fashioned oats, brown sugar, all purpose flour, ground cinnamon and salt in large bowl. Add unsalted butter and rub into mixture until coarse crumbs form. Mix in chopped walnuts.
  • For Filling:
  • Combine sliced apples, raisins, sugar, fresh lemon juice, flour and ground cinnamon in large bowl. Mix well to blend. Transfer apple-raisin filling to prepared dish. Spread topping over. Bake until topping is golden brown, about 55 minutes. Serve crisp warm with scoops of vanilla ice cream.

2 1/2 lbs golden delicious apples, peeled and thinly sliced (6-7)
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons orange juice
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 pinch ground cloves
2 tablespoons cold butter, cut into very small pieces
1 pastry dough, for a double pie (9-inch)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400 degrees (bottom rack).
  • In a large bowl, combine apples, raisins, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and cloves.
  • Mound mixture in prepared unbaked pastry shell; dot with small pieces of butter.
  • Cover the filling with top pie crust; seal, and flute edges.
  • Cut several vents/slits in top crust to vent out steam.
  • Place on a cookie sheet if desired to prevent spills.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until crust is golden, and apples are tender.
  • Cool at least 30 minutes before serving.
