CLASSIC HOT TODDY

Warm up with this classic hot toddy cocktail recipe! Hot toddies are so easy to make. You'll just need hot water, whiskey, honey, and lemon. Recipe yields 1 cocktail.

3/4 cup water
1 1/2 ounces whiskey
2 to 3 teaspoons honey, to taste
2 to 3 teaspoons lemon juice, to taste
1 lemon round
1 cinnamon stick (optional, for garnish)

Steps:

  • In a teapot or saucepan, bring the water to a simmer. Pour the hot water into a mug.
  • Add the whiskey, 2 teaspoons honey and 2 teaspoon lemon juice. Stir until the honey has disappeared into the hot water. Taste, and add 1 teaspoon honey for more sweetness, and/or 1 teaspoon more lemon juice for more zing.
  • Garnish with a lemon round and cinnamon stick (if using). Enjoy!

2 cups vanilla flavored almond milk (Vanilla Almond Breeze)
2 ounces spiced rum
1 ounce brandy
1/3 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/3 teaspoon nutmeg, plus more for garnish
light whipped cream (to garnish)
slivered almonds (to garnish)

Steps:

  • Over low heat, combine Vanilla Almond Breeze®, rum, brandy, almond extract, cinnamon and nutmeg in a medium saucepan, stirring constantly with a whisk until very warm.
  • Pour into large mugs, leaving an inch of room to the top.
  • Top with whipped cream, almonds and a sprinkle of nutmeg.

1 1/2 oz. whisky or bourbon
1 tbsp. honey
1/2 oz. lemon juice

  • Place the water in a mug and microwave on high for 1 minute until very hot (but not boiling). Mix in the whiskey, honey and lemon juice. Drop in a lemon wedge and cinnamon stick, if you like.

1 ½ ounces (3 tablespoons) brandy
½ ounce (1 tablespoon) pure maple syrup (or honey)
½ cup steaming hot water
3 apple slices
1 cinnamon stick

Steps:

  • In the serving glass, stir together the brandy and maple syrup.
  • Add the apple slices to the glass. Pour in the hot water and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
  • Warm 4 cups water, 1 ½ cups brandy, and 4 tablespoons maple syrup on the stovetop until hot but not boiling. Garnish as in Step 3 and serve.

  • Combine the lemon, sugar, and water in a small, 2 to 3-quart slow cooker set to high. Cover and heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves completely, 20 to 30 minutes. 1 cup butter, softened
6 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 cups all-purpose flour
FILLING:
2 cans (8 ounces each) almond paste
1-1/2 cups sugar
3 large eggs, room temperature, lightly beaten
3 tablespoons orange juice
3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sliced almonds

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy. Gradually add flour and mix well. Shape into 48 balls. With floured fingers, press onto the bottom and up the sides of greased miniature muffin cups., For filling, in a large bowl, combine the almond paste, sugar, eggs, orange juice, cream and flour. Fill prepared cups three-fourths full. Sprinkle with almonds. , Bake at 400° until lightly browned, 12-13 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes before carefully removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely.
