Whip up these delicious classic Cranberry Meatballs for the upcoming holidays. Completely homemade, super simple and bursting with savory-sweet flavor!

1 small onion (grated or finely chopped)
1 ½ pound ground pork (extra lean)
1 cup breadcrumbs (such as Panko)
2 large eggs
⅓ cup ketchup
2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
¼ cup parsley (fresh, chopped)
½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
½ teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
2 cups cranberry sauce (homemade or store bought)
1 cup ketchup
3 tablespoon brown sugar (packed)
1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 350 F degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl combine all the meatball ingredients together and mix well.
  • Wet your hands and form the mixture into medium size meatballs. You should end up with about 32 meatballs. Watch the video to see how to use a small ice cream scoop to make the meatballs.
  • Transfer the meatballs to the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until a thermometer reads 160 F degrees.
  • While the meatballs are baking, prepare the sauce. In a large skillet add all the sauce ingredients, stir and cook over medium heat until it comes to a boil. Turn down the heat and stir in the meatballs. Cook until heated through.
  • Garnish with parsley if preferred and serve warm.

1 (14-oz.) can jellied cranberry sauce
1 (10.5-oz.) jar hot jalapeño pepper jelly
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (from 1 lemon)
1 teaspoon garlic salt
2 (1-lb.) pkg. frozen beef meatballs
1 small jalapeño chile, seeded and finely chopped
1 tablespoon chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley

Steps:

  • Whisk together cranberry sauce, pepper jelly, lemon juice, and garlic salt in a Dutch oven or large pot over medium, whisking until mixture melts and is well blended, about 4 minutes. Add meatballs, stirring to coat in sauce. Cover and continuing cooking over medium until meatballs are thawed and sauce is beginning to bubble, 6 to 8 minutes.
  • Uncover and increase heat to medium-high. Cook, stirring often, until meatballs are heated through and sauce is thickened giving the meatballs a glazed coating, about 6 minutes. Spoon meatballs on a platter; spoon additional sauce from pot over meatballs, and sprinkle evenly with jalapeño and parsley. Serve hot.

Substituting French's® French-Fried Onions for bread crumbs, kicks this recipe up a notch. These meatballs are easy to make and much tastier than the frozen variety. Delicious with the traditional cranberry/chili sauce or your own favorite sauce.

2 pounds ground beef
½ cup milk
1 small onion, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup crushed French-fried onions (such as French's®)
1 (14 ounce) can jellied cranberry sauce (such as Ocean Spray®)
1 (12 ounce) bottle chili sauce (such as Heinz®)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Beat eggs in a mixing bowl. Add beef, milk, onion, and salt; mix well. Sprinkle in crumbled fried onions and mix until evenly combined.
  • Form the mixture into 40 meatballs and place into a 9x13-inch and 9x9-inch baking dish; set aside.
  • Blend cranberry sauce and chili sauce together in a bowl with an electric hand mixer.
  • Pour 2/3 of the sauce mixture over the meatballs. Brush the remaining sauce over to completely cover the meatballs.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until meatballs are browned and no longer pink in the centers, about 1 hour.

1 bottle (12 ounces) chili sauce
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
