Apple Dapple Cake image

This cake has been made in my kitchen for decades. It is one of my family favorites. It gets better with age. A few days of soaking in the glaze brings more flavor. You can heat it up in the microwave...etc.. Add what nuts you like and I have made it with many different apples.

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 1/2 cup(s) oil
2 cup(s) sugar
3 large eggs
2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
3 cup(s) plain flour
1 teaspoon(s) salt
1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
3 cup(s) fresh yellow apples peeled, cored sliced
1 1/2 cup(s) peacans, chopped
1 cup(s) dark brown sugar
1/4 cup(s) milk
1 stick(s) margarine


  • Heat oven to 325 degrees. Mix together oil, sugar, eggs, vanilla, flour, salt, soda apples, and pecans. Bake in a 9X13 inch pan for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Remove from oven and make glaze. Pour glaze over while cake is still hot.
  • For Glaze, combine in saucepan the brown sugar, milk and margarine. Boil (medium) for 3 minutes. Serve with Cool Whip...
