WHOLE WHEAT PANCAKE MIX image

Number Of Ingredients 5

5 cups whole wheat flour (I used soft white wheat)
1 C ground golden flax (I use half chia seeds, half golden flax and grind them in my blender)
1/4 C baking powder
1/4-1/2 C sweetener (brown sugar or coconut sugar-add more if you like sweet pancakes less if you don't)
2 teaspoons salt

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all the ingredients together and store in an air tight container. To make the pancakes . Whole Wheat Pancakes 1 1/2 C whole wheat pancake mix 1 egg, lightly beaten 1 tablespoon oil (melted butter or coconut oil) 1 C buttermilk (I use almond milk-any milk will do) Dash of vanilla extract 1. Heat up a cast iron skillet or electric skillet. Butter the pan or skillet. 2. In a medium sized mixing bowl add mix, the egg, oil, milk, and dash of vanilla. Stir until the ingredients are all mixed together. Batter might be a bit lumpy. 3. Drop 1/4 C of batter onto the skillet. Cook until you see bubbles starting to pop on the top of the pancake-that is how you know they are ready to flip. Flip and cook on the other side.
