In 1985 at a pot luck hosted by my Aunties retirement community in Fl. I was given a piece of the most delious cake by a women who appeared to be in her late ninties. She was so tiny and quit the little lady. When I asked the name of the cake she sheepishly smiled and wispered "Better than Sex Cake" like sex was a bad word. A...

1 box yellow cake mix
1 bottle jello instant pistacio pudding large box
1 can(s) 16 oz crushed pineapple
8 oz coconut (half a bag)
1 large cool whip large tub
1/2 c chopped peanuts small bag
1 jar(s) maraschino cherries small jar

Steps:

  • 1. Prepare yellow cake mix as directed. after it is cooled. use a the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes in the cake
  • 2. pour the entire can of crushed pine apple evenly over the cake juice and all
  • 3. Prepare the instant pastacio pudding before it sets up pour over the top of the pineapple and cake (layering)
  • 4. Next layer the Cool whip topping using a spatula to make peaks
  • 5. Sprinkle coconut on top of the coolwhip
  • 6. sprinke chopped nuts on top of the cool whip
  • 7. Drain and rinse the cherries in a calender under cold water. slice them in half and arrange astectically on top the cake.
  • 8. refridgerate for 3-4 hours before serving. The longer you let it set the better it will taste. I let mine rest over night.
