The Brisket Recipe image

In our family we just call this the brisket recipe.

Number Of Ingredients 10

3/4 cup(s) packed brown sugar
1 cup(s) ketchup
1/2 teaspoon(s) cinnamon
1/2 gallon ground ginger
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
12 ounce(s) beer
2 tablespoon(s) vinegar
3-4 pound(s) beef brisket
15 small red potatoes
1 1/2 pound(s) baby carrots

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325
  • Place brisket fat side up in large baking pan.
  • Place potatoes and carrots around brisket.
  • Mix the rest of the ingredients and pour over the brisket.
  • Cover and bake 3 1/2 hours, basting occasionally. Check for tenderness. Return to oven until tender. Slice and serve.
