Tex-Mex Three Bean Crockpot Chili image

I make this chili starting in the fall. It is delicious and my family loves it! It is a bit spicy but could be tamed down with a few adjustments.

Number Of Ingredients 15

1 pound(s) ground beef or turkey if preferred
2 clove(s) garlic, minced
3-4 teaspoon(s) chili powder
1/2 teaspoon(s) gound cumin
1 can(s) red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can(s) great northern beans, drained and rinsed
1 can(s) butter beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup(s) onion, chopped
1/2 cup(s) green pepper, chopped
10 ounce(s) can tomatoes with green chilies (mild, reg or hot)
1 can(s) tomatoe juice 12 oz. can add more for desired consistency
6 ounce(s) can tomatoe paste
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
- shredded cheddar cheese
- sour cream

Steps:

  • Cook beef or turkey and garlic until brown. Drain. Stir in chili powder and cumin; cook 2 minutes.
  • In crock pot combine beans, onion, green pepper. Add undrained tomatoes with green chilies, tomato juice, tomato paste, and salt. Stir in meat.
  • Cook low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
  • Top with cheese and sour cream if desired.
