This brings back memories of my grandma Allie making these for us as kids. I finally combined a couple of recipes that taste like Mama Allie's. This has been a hit with my business Special Katering. This week I'm shipping some to VA and CA!!! Hope you enjoy them!!!!

Steps:
- 1. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth
- 2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla
- 3. Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg in a separate bowl.
- 4. Stir into the creamed mixture, alternate with milk. Start with flour and end with flour.
- 5. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
- 6. Spoon 1/4 inch thick. Place cookies 1 1/2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheet.
- 7. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. When edges are brown they are ready. I brown them on broil but you have to watch them.
- 8. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely .
