1 box favorite boxed cake mix, plus ingredients to make the cake
2 can(s) white frosting, 16 oz each
1 tube(s) Wilton gel, pink
1 tube(s) Wilton gel, black
1 tube(s) Wilton squeezable frosting, purple
DECORATIONS
1 bag(s) jelly beans
1 bag(s) Sixlets, purple
spring colored sprinkles

Steps:

  • 1. Mix cake according to directions.
  • 2. Pour into two round cake pans.
  • 3. Bake cakes according to directions.
  • 4. Completely cool cakes.
  • 5. Gather decorating supplies.
  • 6. Cut cakes according to diagram.
  • 7. Assemble cake according to the diagram to resemble a bunny.
  • 8. Start to frost the cake. Be sure to fill in any gaps and be careful to not spread too many crumbs.
  • 9. Clean up the edges with a paper towel.
  • 10. Completely cover the cake with white frosting.
  • 11. Outline the bow tie.
  • 12. Add sprinkles and Sixlets candies.
  • 13. Use black jelly beans for the eyes.
  • 14. Add a pink jelly bean for the nose and pink gel for the mouth.
  • 15. Black gel creates whiskers.
  • 16. Pipe pink gel for the ears.
  • 17. White jelly beans around the head.
  • 18. Add pink jelly beans around the ears.
  • 19. For easier cutting, place the decorated cake in the fridge for about an hour to firm up.
