Spicy Cheeseburger Soup image

No special story. Started out with plain, browned hamburger meat, drained, added a can of Campbell Cheddar Cheese Soup. Ate cheeseburger soup at friends house, and it kinda grew from there. Her kids did not like spicey, my kids liked spicier, the better. I added some things. Forgiving recipe, play with it, find your own taste and...

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 1/2 cup water,
1 1/2-2 cups cubed poatoes
carrots grated, to taste
small onion chopped, to taste
1/4-1/2 cup chopped green peppers
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and hopped
1 garlic clove minced
1 tbs beef bouillon granules
1/2 tsp salt
1 lb ground beef, cooked and drained
2-2 1/2 cups milk, divided
8 oz your choice cheese, grated or cubed
3 tbs flour
1/2 lb bacon, fried and crumbled

Steps:

  • 1. In large saucepan, combine the first 9 ingredients, bring to boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer, till potatoes are tender.
  • 2. Stir in beef and 2 cups milk. Heat through. Combine flour and remaining milk till smooth. Gradually stir into soup.
  • 3. Bring to a boil, cook and stir till thick and bubbly. Reduce heat, stir in cheese till melted. Add cayenne if desired. Top with bacon just before serving.
