Spiced Apple Coffee Cake image

I found this recipe in my " Best Ever Fall Baking" by Betty Crocker..is very good..

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 cup(s) brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup(s) butter, softened
1 - egg
2 1/2 cup(s) flour
1 teaspoon(s) baking powder
1 teaspoon(s) ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1 - 8 ounce(s) sour cream
2 cup(s) chopped and peeled braeburn apples
6 tablespoon(s) butter, softened
1/2 cup(s) chopped and toasted pecans, i toast mine in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir and micro for another 30 seconds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven 350 Grease a 9 inch pan with cooking spray
  • In a large bowl, beat 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar and 1/2 cup butter with an electric mixer on med speed until creamy. Beat in egg.
  • In small bowl, mix 2 cups of flour, baking powder, allspice and salt with a whisk. On low speed, add flour to the butter mixture, beating just until blended; fold in sour cream and apples. Spread batter into pan.
  • In a small bowl, mix the remaining brown sugar, and 1/2 cup of flour. Stir in 6 tbsp of butter with fork until mixture looks like fine crumbs.Stir in pecans, sprinkle crumb topping over batter.
  • Bake 55-60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan on cooling rack for 1 hour. Serve slightly warm.
