Spanish Red Leaf Salad w/ Balsamic Vinaigrette image

A refreshing salad. If you don't want to make your own balsamic vinaigrette, use your favorite store-bought variety.

Number Of Ingredients 13

SALAD
6 c red leaf lettuce, torn into small pieces (packed cups)
2 c romain lettuce, torn into small pieces (packed cups)
2 large oranges, peeled and sliced
1/2 c red onion, sliced thinly
1/3 c olives (whatever variety you prefer, make sure they're pitted)
1/2-3/4 c balsamic vinaigrette (store bought brand or make following directions below)
DRESSING
1/4 c balsamic vinegar
1/4 c olive oil
1/8 c honey
1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes
salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • 1. FOR SALAD: Toss all ingredients together, dress with balsamic vinaigrette
  • 2. FOR DRESSING: Put all ingredients in a jar with a tight-fitting lid and shake until well combined. Taste, adjust seasoning.
