Southwest Ham Steaks image

Number Of Ingredients 8

FOR THE RUB:
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 1/2 to 3 pounds center-cut smoked ham steaks, 1 to 2 inches thick
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

Steps:

  • TO MAKE THE RUB: In a small bowl combine the rub ingredients. Brush both sides of the steak with the butter. Sprinkle the rub evenly on both sides of the steak, pressing the spices into the meat. Grill over Direct Medium heat until nicely browned, 12 to 15 minutes, turning once halfway through grilling time. Serve warm or at room temperature.From Weber's Big Book of Grilling.
