There are several variations of this cocktail, and this one is said to be the original. The Singapore Sling was first developed about 1915 by a bartender at a bar at Raffles Hotel in Singapore. Number Of Ingredients 11

1 oz gin
1/2 oz heering (cherry brandy)
1/4 oz cointreau
1/4 oz benedictine
1/3 oz grenadine
4 oz pineapple juice
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
1 dash(es) angostura bitters
ice cubes
1 small pineapple wedge, for garnish
1 large maraschino cherry, for garnish

Steps:

  • 1. Place gin, heering, Cointreau, Benedictine, grenadine, pineapple juice, lime juice and bitters in a cocktail shaker with ice, and shake well.
  • 2. Strain into a highball or tall Collins glass. Garnish with the pineapple and cherry, and serve with a straw.
