SEARED AHI TUNA STEAKS image

Number Of Ingredients 6

Seared Ahi Tuna Steaks
Sesame oil (At Chinese stores)
2 TBS Soy sauce or a bit more
1/4 cup of Sherry (or dry vermouth)
salt, pepper
a couple green onions

Steps:

  • Salt and pepper generously the steaks. Heat the flat skillet you all have. Add 1 tablespoon or 2 of sesame oil. Sear the steaks at high heat 2 min. to the side if you like it rare. 3 min. if you have a finicky guest. My suggestion is to keep it on the rare side, after all, you all like suchi. Using tongs take the steaks out and tent to keep war. Lower the heat in the pan and add the soy sauce and the sherry, scrape bottom of pan. Let it warm a bit while the alcohol evaporates and softens and pour over the steaks. Sprinkle with the finely diced green onion and serve immediately. The night before, boil potatoes with their skin; don't let them fall apart. Refrigerate. Add quartered potatoes to another frying pan with a bit of olive oil or a mix of olive oil and one of those healthy olive oil spreads that taste like butter; stir in salt and pepper and any herb you wish. Let them get golden brown; add sliced mushrooms at the end and saute lightly.
